Dee founded K.I.S Education Ltd in 2006 with a clear purpose - she wanted to make learning meaningful, culturally grounded, and accessible for tumuaki, kaiako and ākonga. She wanted to enhance experiences for whānau, hapū and iwi, and ensure they have a seat and a voice at any decision-making table.

With a background now spanning teaching, curriculum design, bilingual education, project leadership and resource publication across the education sector in Aotearoa, Dee continues to be motivated and driven to design quality, tailored and practical resources and services that connect deeply to te ao Māori and reflect who learners are, where they come from, and where they now call home.

Her ‘Keep It Simple’ (K.I.S) philosophy reflects a belief that great learning design does not have to be complicated - it has to be relevant, relational, and responsive.

Under her leadership, K.I.S Education Ltd has grown into a trusted collaborator for kura and schools, kaiako and teachers, and the Ministry of Education - with a proven track record in designing and publishing innovative programmes and resources; and designing and delivering tailored professional learning and development experiences that weave together mātauranga Māori, modern pedagogy, and real-world application - all wrapped up in a bundle that is simple and seamless, motivating and manageable, and most of all fun!
